What is the reason for this test?
This test is primarily used to monitor individuals for substance use, particularly in situations where sobriety is crucial, such as during legal proceedings, rehabilitation programs, or workplace compliance. The test screens for the presence of ethyl glucuronide (ETG), a direct metabolite of alcohol, which can indicate recent alcohol consumption even after the alcohol itself has exited the body. This test is usually court-ordered for probation, DUI programs, or other legal reasons. It can detect alcohol usage within the past 80 hours.
When will I get the results?
The estimated time for negative results is usually 1-3 business days, while non-negative results typically take 3-7 business days. These are just estimates based on our regular experience, and there is no guarantee that the actual time will be the same. Sometimes, confirmation testing, communication with the donor, and other logistical issues can delay the lab turnaround time.
