Under U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, all follow-up drug tests must be directly and personally observed.
 
If you are identified as a covered or safety-sensitive employee regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT), you must undergo DOT drug and alcohol testing. DOT drug testing is conducted before hiring and at random intervals after employment.
 
DOT Drug Tests are mandatory in the following situations:
 
Pre-employment
Reasonable suspicion/cause
Random testing
Return-to-duty testing
Follow-up testing

What is the reason for this test? 
 
This test is usually ordered for pre-employment, probation, and personal testing. When will I get the results? The estimated time for negative results is usually 1-3 business days, while non-negative results typically take 3-7 business days. These are just estimates based on our regular experience, and there is no guarantee that the actual time will be the same. Sometimes, confirmation testing, communication with the donor, and other logistical issues can delay the lab turnaround time.
